IGM Eligibility Criteria 2026 defines the required educational qualifications and age limits for each post.   • Supervisors (Technical Operations): First class full-time Diploma in relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical / Electrical / Metallurgy / Chemical) from a recognised institution. Higher qualification such as B.Tech / BE / BSc (Engineering) is also acceptable.
  • Engraver (Sculpture / Metal Works): Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture or Metal Works with at least 55% marks.
  • Jr. Office Assistant and Jr. Bullion Assistant: Graduate in any discipline with computer knowledge and typing speed of English @ 40 wpm / Hindi @ 30 wpm on computer.
  • Jr. Hindi Typist: Graduate in any discipline with computer knowledge and typing speed in Hindi @ 30 wpm on computer.
  • Laboratory Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.Sc.) with Chemistry as a Major Subject and at least 55% marks.

Selection is purely merit-based through a Computer Based Test (CBT). There is no interview and no negative marking. The CBT is bilingual in Hindi and English, except the English language section which is available only in English.

  • Supervisors (Technical), Laboratory Assistant, and Engraver: Single Phase CBT of 150 questions carrying 150 marks in 120 minutes. Sections include General Arithmetic (25 marks), Logical Reasoning (20 marks), and Technical/Professional Knowledge (105 marks)
  • Jr. Technicians (all trades): Single Phase CBT of 120 questions carrying 120 marks in 120 minutes. Sections include General Arithmetic (20 marks), Logical Reasoning (15 marks), and Technical Knowledge (85 marks)
  • Jr. Office Assistant, Jr. Bullion Assistant, Jr. Hindi Typist: First a CBT of 150 questions covering General Awareness, Computer Knowledge, English, Numerical Aptitude, and Reasoning. Candidates who qualify the CBT are then called for a Typing Test on computer. The final merit list is prepared based on CBT performance only.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: General/EWS – 55%  |  OBC – 50%  |  SC/ST – 45%. Merely qualifying does not guarantee selection as the final list depends on total vacancies and relative performance of all candidates.
