1. Specialized Medical Officers (SO-E & SO-D)

These positions require advanced post-graduate degrees and, in some cases, specific years of experience after obtaining those degrees.

• Cardiologist (DR/01): M.B.B.S. + M.D. (General Medicine) + DM (Cardiology) OR M.B.B.S. + DNB (General Medicine) + DNB (Cardiology). Both options require 2 years of experience after acquiring the specialized qualification.

• Nuclear Medicine (DR/11 & DR/12): M.B.B.S. + M.D./DNB (Nuclear Medicine).

  • For SO-E (DR/11), 4 years of experience is required.

  • For SO-D (DR/12 & DR/09), candidates can also qualify with an M.B.B.S. + PG Diploma in Nuclear Medicine + 3 years of experience post-diploma.

• Other Specialties (DR/03, DR/04, DR/05, DR/06, DR/07): Includes ENT, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Pathology, and Anaesthesiology.

  • Generally requires M.B.B.S. + M.D./M.S./DNB in the relevant specialty.

  • Radiology (DR/04) specifically allows for an M.B.B.S. + PG Diploma in Radiology with 3 years of experience.

2. Hospital Administrator (DR/02)

This role offers two entry levels depending on the candidate’s experience:

• Basic Requirement: M.B.B.S. or BDS.

• Specialization: Post Graduate Degree or PG Diploma (minimum 1 year) in Hospital Administration, Hospital Management, or Hospital and Health Care Management.

• Experience: * For SO-E: 8 years post-PG qualification, with at least 3 years as an administrator in a 100-bed hospital.

  • For SO-D: 3 years post-PG qualification, with at least 2 years as an administrator in a 100-bed hospital.

3. General Duty / Casualty Medical Officer (DR/08)

• Qualification: M.B.B.S. from a recognized university.

• Experience: One year of institutional experience is required.

4. Technical Officer – Nuclear Medicine Technology (DR/10 & DR/13)

• Primary Qualification: M.Sc. with minimum 60% marks.

• Mandatory Diploma: Must have a Diploma in Medical Radio-Isotope Techniques (DMRIT), Nuclear Medicine Technology (DNMT), or Fusion Imaging Technology (DFIT) with at least 50% marks.

• Alternative: M.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine Technology with 60% marks.

• Experience: 4 years of experience is required.

Important Notes on Eligibility

• Internship: Mandatory internship is not counted as work experience.

• Final Year Students: Candidates must have acquired all educational qualifications by the closing date (February 27, 2026); those who will not have them by then are not eligible.

• Grading Systems: If your university uses CGPA/Letter grades, you must indicate the equivalent percentage based on your university’s norms.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years.

• Maximum Age: Up to 35 years for SO-C, 40 years for SO-D/TO-D, and 50 years for SO-E.

• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC candidates (for reserved posts) and other relaxations for PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and widows as per government norms .
