GSSC Qualification Criteria 2026 for Police & Forest Recruitment

The GSSC Eligibility Criteria 2026 outlines the required educational qualification, age limit and language requirement for Police Constable, Forest Guard and other Group C posts. Candidates must meet the post-wise criteria before submitting the online application.

Educational Qualification

  • Range Forest Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in Science with at least two subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Forestry or Agriculture.

  • Platoon Commander: Higher Secondary (12th Pass).

  • Round Forester: Higher Secondary (12th Pass).

  • Police Constable (Male/Female): Secondary School Certificate (10th Pass).

  • Police Constable (Armed Police): 10th Pass.

  • Police Constable Driver (Grade-III): 10th Pass + Valid Heavy/Light Vehicle Driving License + Minimum 2 years driving experience.

  • Constable (Greaser): 10th Pass + ITI in Diesel Mechanic/Fitter with experience.

  • Constable (Electrician): 10th Pass + ITI in Electrician trade with experience.

  • Forest Guard: 10th Pass.

  • Assistant Superintendent: 10th Pass.

  • Warden / Matron / Lascar / Escort: 10th Pass (Escort can also apply with ITI qualification).

Knowledge of Konkani language is mandatory for all posts.
