Educational Qualification Requirements (Post-wise Nature)

The educational criteria vary across the 29 distinct post codes, depending on the department and functional role.

• IT & Data Science Roles
  BE / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics, or MCA
  Master’s degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or Data Science

• Risk Management & Finance Roles
  Post Graduate Degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, or Commerce
  MBA (Finance) / PGDBM
  Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM, PRM, CA, ICWA are considered highly desirable

• Premises / Project Management Role
  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  PMP or equivalent project management certification

• Specialised & Research-Oriented Roles
  CA / ICWA / MBA (Finance)
  PhD in Economics or Finance for policy and research-focused positions

Experience Requirements by Grade Level

Experience is the core shortlisting factor in RBI lateral recruitment and must be directly relevant to the applied role.

• Grade ‘C’ Positions
  Generally 3 to 7 years of domain-specific experience
  Areas include Data Engineering, Cyber Security, Risk Modelling, Credit Analysis, Banking Supervision, and Analytics

• Grade ‘D’ Positions
  Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience
  Typically for senior risk, examination, or specialist supervisory roles

• Grade ‘E’ Positions
  Around 10 to 15 years of experience
  Applicable to highly senior profiles such as academic, training, or leadership roles in banks or financial institutions

Age Limit Criteria (As on 01.12.2025)

• General Age Range
  Minimum: 25 years
  Maximum: 40 years (for most Grade C posts)

• Senior-Level Posts (Grade D / E)
  Upper age limit may extend to 45, 50, or up to 62 years, depending on the specific role
